Sean Daughtry is the Political Action Chair for the Boston Branch of the NAACP. A North Carolina native and current Roxbury resident, Mr. Daughtry has long had a passion for politics with a focus on voter education. Sean has been involved with Dunk the Vote and a successful grass roots voter-mobilization drive called Knocks Across Boston. Sean is the former Chair of the Political Committee for the State of Young Black Boston, a former board member for Boston's Urban Progressives and a former board member of the Young Democrats of Massachusetts.
Mr. Daughtry believes in service to his community. “Sean epitomizes the new face of the Boston NAACP,” said Branch President Michael Curry. “He is very bright with the perfect temperament for dealing with people and issues and, even at such a young age, he has displayed an undeniable commitment to civic engagement in communities of color.”
As the former president of the Greater Boston Morehouse College Alumni Association, Sean helped to provide over $100,000 in scholarship money to Boston area students. He is a member of Concord Baptist Church and an officer with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Boston Alumni Chapter. Professionally, Sean is a Lab Manager with Metabolix, Inc., a Cambridge bio-tech firm with clean solutions for plastics, chemicals and energy. Sean is a graduate of Morehouse College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
